Chapter 23 Summary

The next day Bree receives a call from Detective McIntyre, the detective assigned to her father’s case. The detective explains that someone gave them information that may lead to the arrest of her father’s murderer. He asks if she can come back to Ohio to pick a suspect from a lineup. Bree says that she can be there in three days.

Bree speaks with her Ohio friend, Natalie, who offers to fly to Pelion and ride back to Cincinnati with Bree. Bree also tells Natalie that she has decided to stay in Pelion permanently. Natalie is surprised but supportive.

Bree is at work the next day thinking of how she needed to tell Archer about leaving for Ohio. Travis enters the diner and tells Bree he is sorry for how he treated Archer. He says that he and Archer have always been competitive, which makes Bree angry. However, she is tolerant and kind to Travis. Archer does not have a phone and she has not been to see him since she spoke to the detective. Natalie surprises Bree at the diner, since she arrived on an early flight. Natalie brings Jordan, who, Natalie explains, begged to come with her to apologize to Bree.
